About- Meet the Maker

I’m a New England girl and love it! I was born in Rhode Island, raised in Massachusetts, and still currently reside in New England’s vast and ever changing environment. As a young artist growing up, New England’s setting sparked the flame that later created my burning passion for art. With its diverse and colorful seasons, who wouldn’t be inspired to paint?

As a child, I have memories spending our vacations in cottages in the woody forest of Plymouth, MA not far from the cranberry bogs, the glorious and endless seashore of Cape Cod and the clear blue lakes of New Hampshire. These family outings deeply enriched my creative ability to paint. Now as an adult, eyeing the colorful landscapes of New England brings forth memories that fill my soul with the easiness and warmth of childhood.

When I am one with the landscape, a sense of peace and serenity engulfs me, making the presence of God known to me more than ever.  Living with this awareness, I realize how connected we all are to nature.

My paintings lean more on an impressionistic style that is inspired from my collective memories as a child growing up in New England.  I find myself visually drawn to the light and dark patterns that dance along the dynamic landscape. What’s most exciting to me, are the surprise spots of color that can be found on a sunny day or even an overcast day.  These tiny details that nature provide are such a gift for me as a painter.

In my work, I enjoy capturing a sense of calmness, tranquility and harmony.  It serves as an escape from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Come join me and slow down as we clear our minds and enter into nature’s gift of peace, serenity and oneness.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better.

Surround yourself with nature, find your peace and become “one”  with our world.

With Peace and Gratitude,  Carolyn
